Fabric turns into bedding
The products are finally sent to Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills (RCM Organic). The company was founded in 1934 as one of the first economic initiatives following Gandhi's vision to make India independent by getting more Indians to own and run businesses to achieve economic freedom. Today, the company is run by the third generation, Rajat Jaipuria, one of India's leading pioneers in organic and Faitrade certified cotton. Inside the factories are highly skilled craftsmen in textiles: both sewing and cutting are of a phenomenally high standard. Our bedding is then packed in drawstring bags and shipped by boat to Sweden.
Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills
RCM Organic has three factories around the city of Kolkata and the company has around 1000 employees. The company is embedded and filled with Rajat's kindness, and we can attest that he goes that extra mile for his employees. Employees are offered transportation to and from the workplace, company-sponsored meals, paid leave, funding for their children's education, health insurance (including their children and parents) and shares in the business. Rajat has also implemented an open-door policy, which means that all employees have the opportunity to have direct contact with him.
